    Help Me Buy A Non-Sucky T-Mobile Smartphone

As most of you don't know, I kinda had my heart set on the HTC HD2. But as it turns out, the phone is getting critically panned. But with news that the phone of my tech wet dreams is elligible for the Windows Mobile 7 update I've decided to throw the HD2 into the fray with the rest of my T-Mobile smartphone lot. What to choose? My 'for serious' camera must be left at home, so it would be nice to have a phone that doesn't take photos that look like the equivalent of a fierce Tetris match. Though T-mobile isn't known for their 3G and Wi-Fi network, hell T-mobile isn't really known for being particularly awesome at anything! I just want something that works well on the web and has a keyboard that doesn't make me feel like I'm typing with my toes.

What should I chose? Video reviews from various sites will help with the decision making process. After the jump.

Frank Lantz Article On Game Design Advancement

Sir Frank Lantz of Area Code Inc wrote a damn interesting article on game design and the likely or unlikelihood of the probability of events occuring in games. This article is a result of several panel discussions at PAX East this year. Most notably, Lantz's focal point of the article is the topics discussed during the Rob Pardo and Sid Meier which talked about how game design should focus on adjusting to how a gamer plays as opposed to the gamer stumbling upon choke points of events.

Commercial Break: James Brown Gives A Dance Lesson

There going to be a lot of people who laugh at this. What you should know is a good majority of the moves James Brown is doing in this itty-bitty clip...I completely stole. I didn't know how to dance as a kid and when I seen old footage of James Brown, Rufus Thomas and The Temptations I would go in the kitchen [with the socks on, because that's how you get a good slide] and get to dancing. It wasn't until this clip popped up one of my friends facebook streams that I realized, "Wow, I took a lot from James Brown!" I probably wouldn't even like a lot of music I listen to know if it weren't for old tapes like these that are probably long lost treasures hidden in my childhood home.

    Long Live Funk Music.

[sidenote: If anybody can hip me to this version of "If You Don't Work, You Can't Eat" I'd be very appreciative] update: Nevermind...I found it

Cartoons I Watched As A Child [For Better Or Worse]

There was a lot of crap to cut through when widdling down a list of crap I watched as a kid. Omitting the live action Nickelodean programs [which were awesome -- I mean who didn't like Salute Your Shorts?] I realize that my mom did an awesome job as far as raising me, but I'd have to say the old idiot box did its fair share of damage on my imagination.  Feel free to snicker and jeer as I reminisce and pine over some embarassing moments. FOX Kids, Kids! WB, Toonami, even some crap from Channel 55 [Cleveland] is thrown in this list for good measure. Maybe you'll see something you liked...or still love.

Cartoon Shows Based On Video Games That Should Never Have Been Cartoons

[For more on why MK: Defenders Of The Realm should have never left the poor animation studios of Korea, keep reading after the jump]

I watched them, you may have watched them and going back to a Youtube or a Megavideo is a harsh reminder as to why you should let those fond memories of shows like Street Fighter, Captain N and Mega Man live in your childish brains. Yeah, you can make excuses. "It was great because it was cheesy" or "the voice acting was what MADE the show", but ask yourself this: Would you recommend any of these cartoons to children?

If the answer is yes, feel free to leave your name and address in the comments section and I'll be glad to shoot cans of cream corn at your forhead out of a t-shirt cannon.

    Let the horror ensue...
