Commercial Break: BET Cypher With Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse & Eminem
This is moreso a placemarker for me. I'd been looking for this cypher for a couple days and thanks to the Ohio-based site OMNImix. I found it. Feel free to enjoy.
Review: Beats, Rhymes & Life -- The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest
One of the most important notes I took in any of my photography lectures, years back, was making a connection with an artist. Finding art and an artist to invest oneself to, becomes more difficult as any medium grows. There is a high chance you could expose yourself to a lot of crap art and crap artists [subjectively speaking]. When I look at this documentary on A Tribe Called Quest, it reminds me about the many movements that occur in art. It reminds me of my youth. It also reminds me of my initial hate of the group.
Commerical Break: Circle Kingz 2010 -- Flo Mo vs. SKMZ Final Battle
EL-P Interviewed By Ford Models Blog
Damien Neva gets mega props for this one. Who would have thought the son of Harry "Keys" Meline would have made it this far?
Bboy Battle: Thesis [KHCA] vs. Lancer [Calamities]
I love to give props to well made videos and well thrown events. Props to both Thesis and Lancer. Thesis is clearly on another level as far as flow and the dance as a whole, but look at Lancer! Very technically sound, seen him flub a couple footwork steps, but he rolled with it and really surprised me with how in tune with the music he was.
Part 2 after the jump.
You're Probably Wondering How El-P Linked Up With Justin Bieber...
Creative Music + Creative Videos[Updated]
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks
Thanks to the rag tag bunch behind EpicFU for hipping me to most of this new heap of new videos and music. I don't have cable...and even if I did, I don't think I'd be watching music videos. Do they still show music videos on MTV/BET?
Rapping About The "Earth Destroyer" (or Large Hardron Collider)
Speaking as someone who is working on a personal invention, that and i'm a huge nerdwad when it comes to particle collisions and what not. The Large Hadron Collider is something i've been keeping my eye on since early this spring. True, there is a chance that the Earth can inherit stranglets produce mini-black holes in the very lab where this is being tested [the CERN lab]. There are a number of pros and cons and I feel the more I try to explain this truly 'great moment' in science; the more it sounds like it could be the end of us all. Its hard to communicate to people that we could find out the inner workings of gravity or even gain ground on the "Big Bang Theory".
But then there is a young lady named Kate McAlpine from Michigan who writes about science regularly. She made a rap about the LHC and initially when I heard this, I put two and two together pretty hastily. Nerd Science Journalist + Rap = TERRIBLE. Boy was I wrong...peep the video for yourself after the jump.
