Personal Note: It's Been That Kind Of Week

    video via rickymachinima

I try and keep the Brog PG-13, but sometimes a healthy f**k is good to squeeze out of the body every now and again. Don't worry, it won't become commonplace, but boy has the gaming world shown it's ugly side this week [again]. I probably haven't contributed to the healing process [pay no attention to my twitter feed]. I'd like to think at least writing this stuff down is a good piece of therapy. It's just unfortunate that when I do bitch about the pitfalls of this culture I'm met with "you know this is par for the course, right?"

Be prepared to see another Void nominee in Gran Turismo 5. I really wanted to review this game, but I've had it for three weeks and have had the hardest time getting into it. When I was at my lowest point of attraction with the game, I was banking on trying out some of the online modes. Boom! The PSN gets hacked and the network collapsed indefinitely.

I have an opinion on Gran Turismo 5, but it isn't as strong as my feelings on having my personal data compromised and a corporation I've invested money in -- withholding that nugget of information. I don't know what that says about me when I didn't freak out or type a blog specifically targeted to the issue at hand [no this doesn't count]. Dare I say, that this culture is getting use to having their personal information compromised?

Probably not. At least, not yet. It's probably because I'm fully aware of my 'internet face' and my personal face. And because my personal information was compromised prior to this event, I knew exactly what kind of info I should give to a company like Sony to begin with. Doesn't make this icky feeling, I'm currently experiencing, any less s**t filled.

I've had a couple of rough e-mails in regards to my writing. Doesn't help that I've read recent articles from some popular sites that were just unsettling. I get that feeling of, "you're complaining about how I script my opinions, yet you support this?" I won't link to it, to prevent more popularity and clicks to the site. Those who know me personally know what article(s) I'm talking about. Know it's the same idea men that sparked this show...

What I've learned this week is to embrace the comfort of the 'non-reaction'. Sensational writing can't be helped in today's news. Especially in regards to gaming news, to be over-reactionary is a big mission accomplished to the crap writers out there, who need the clicks. I don't, and I think you don't either.

Bright side, someone gifted me a new joystick. I don't know who you are, but you are amazing and you don't know how much I appreciate the gift. I'll review it right after I review my other bright spot of the week, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Special Edition. It is finally apart of my library. There will be a review, but it will come after I've spent countless hours with it -- seeing as I've played the previous game for almost ten years. I figured this game is due a bit more time, given the patches and anticipation factor.

Also, I finally finished Preacher and boy do I have something to say about that.

    See ya later space cowboys.
