Shameless Pimpery: Gamepro & Bitmob Team Up For You!

1UP alumni lives on in many ways this new year. Ex-editor-in-chief, John Davison, wields executive status over at the newly rebooted Gamepro and has reached out to a site that I spam with all the articles originating from the lovely Brog. Bitmob is a gaming community site dedicated to exonerating quality writing and illuminating the many faces of the gaming world. It seems like a match made in game writing heaven that both entities are offering fellow writers out there a chance to be in print.

    Deets after the jump...

    From The Don Himself...

    Some guidelines for you:

With the relaunch of the new GamePro, our emphasis is as much on the culture of video games as it is on the products. As I mentioned in the editor's letter of the February issue, our goal is to provide mature, thought-provoking stories about games, but also (very importantly) about the people associated with them. In the coming months we will endeavor to shine a light on the talents that build the experiences we all love so much, and also on the people that play them and are inspired by them. This doesn't just mean developer interviews - it also means essays about the way that games affect us personally, and how they change our views about the world around us. Take a look at Leigh Alexander's recent essay about Bayonetta as a great example.

To be considered, please sign up for an account on the Bitmob website, and write a blog entry of about 600-700 words. We'll select the first winner by January 20 for inclusion in the April issue, which will hit newsstands on March 9. We'll post reminders each month regarding deadlines for subsequent issues.
