Canon 50D Specs and Images Leaked!

I'll post up the now infamous photo below the jump. The image speed setting is at ISO 1600 and from the looks of it, there is little to no noise! I just had a photogasm. Still not sure as to why we [the e-public] are seeing this shot. Is it to create some sizzle for Canon's new baby? Is it a legit low-level leak? Who knows. But isn't the new shiny camera via the internet-hype just slaying you?

Last week, PhotographyBay ran what it claims to be specifications on the 50D. The specs include a 15.1-megapixel sensor, DIGIC 4 image processor, 95% magnification pentaprism viewfinder, 9-point AF, 3-inch LCD, adjustable speed autofire at 6.3 or 3 frames per second, 16 RAW or 60 JPEG buffer, and Live View." - Shane McGlaun
"[Update: As some readers have pointed out, the location of the Canon 50D page is not on an official Canon site, nor is it Japanese - the language is Chinese. The page actually looks like part of a MediaTemple project based on the top level domain. Media Temple does web dev for high profile clients such as Sony, Adobe, ABC and Tech Crunch. This leads me to believe (in my sole opinion) that Canon may actually be a MediaTemple client for whom this page was built, and either (1) Canon is employing some viral marketing "leaks" with MediaTemple's help or (2) MediaTemple dropped the ball big time by letting this slip out into the open on a work server. Either way, I'm sticking to my guns that this info and photos are legit. I am also of the opinion that this page is related to the leak on the official Canon.com.cn site a couple days ago. I think we will see an announcement on Aug. 25th or 26th to confirm the leaks/rumors.]" - Eric
