Coming from a drum & bass-slash-dubstep [active] hater, I'll leave it to Bjork's newest single to do justice to a combination of sounds I traditionally hate.

Heck, I'm not even sure if I like Bjork! For a while there, I thought Bjork was one of those semi-functional special needs people. They occasionally have fits of either violence or genius [or both]. This isn't poking fun at the special needs community, but me trying to rationalize what the source of my [artistic] attraction is.  I mean, when you listen to Bjork it's like listening to a cat-lady ramble about...whatever cat ladies ramble about. Cat food?

Now seeing Bjork and Michel Gondry put a vision on film is, well, kinda cool. We've known this for years though. What else is new? This should be where I go on a tangential sentence that begins with, "Well, as an artist I can see the finer aspects of..."

We ain't doing that. This has to be the weirdest Audio Files I've written up. These segments are usually thoughts on music I consistently listen to and adamantly like. Bjork and Michel Gondry are two entities that I'd say are the complete opposite of what my ears would consider, the norm.

If I could rewrite history, Michel Gondry would have never been apart of Be Kind Rewind. The Science of Sleep would have gone straight to DVD and The Green Hornet would have been directed by Mc G. Alas, Bjork hasn't created a video that replicates time and space displacement. Therefore, I shall wait until the Icelandic princess and her seventy-four cats draw up the blueprints for a time travel device. It'll probably be powered by sea anemones. Why? It's f**king Bjork, that's why.

After looking over some of these collaborations, it reminds me of the college art friends you have a couple years post-graduation. You know the ones. They still want to do projects, but dude, all of them require you to either pay for a large sum of supplies -- or bail them out when something goes horribly wrong. Possibly involving nakedness and urination.

Aside from that. This reminds me of a time when people actually cared about music videos and the song actually matching with the videos they made. What a different time that was, huh?

Anyway, I guess this is my blog post about Bjork and how I kinda sort of like her. At least her videos are cool. Some of the songs that I'm able to decipher, because of that crazy-cat-language she speaks in, are thought provoking. In my book, she can strangle all the reporters she wants.
