Isaiah T. Taylor in Audio Files, Music, Pop, Reggae, Santogold, Shove It, Video, Youtubeness
How could I forget to post some audio for the lingerers [thanks for the support by the by]? I'd been debating if I wanted to start another incredibly long [self-indulgent] music post as I did last year. Though the responses were great, I think smaller little informative posts [like I hope this one is] is a welcome change of pace. Also, if you would like to get lost in all-things-music on the site, just click the "Music" link in my "Stuff" menu.
As for the song above and this new segment [Audio Files], consider me uncool and old. After a long day of work, followed by some stress-relieving dancing, I found this song haunting my ear drums. After having arguments with my [more than] musically inclined friends, they let me know how trendy this song was by telling me it was on shows like Gossip Girl and Skins. Two shows I don't watch. [However, apparently it was in the game Fight Night Round 4...a game I reviewed! I guess I missed that one]
I made it home. Body sore. I put on my headphones and I have to suggest -- if you have some high-quality head cans or a sound system that simulates 5.1 surround sound, please make sure you indulge. Every muscle in my body relaxed. The traditional horn plays background while this synthesized rain drop beat echoes off of speakers and walls. Santogold is new to me, I looked up more of what I thought would be a pop-reggae sound, but was surprised to see how varying her material was. I'm not the biggest fan, but I am interested. Having her being the writer of Res' "How I Do" album was definitely a catalyst for why you are seeing her on this site.
Edit: If you are in the mood for a little twist on the beat, I whole heartedly recommend the Three 6 Mafia remix of this song.
--Play this after a long day of work.
